The terms for using WhyThere and understanding the limits of our data and tools.
These terms apply to your use of WhyThere at whythere.life, including city profiles, comparisons, Explore, the planner, and editorial content. Please read them before using the service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
WhyThere is a research and discovery tool. You may use it to explore places, compare options, and share links to pages and comparisons. You remain responsible for your decisions and for verifying information that matters to a move, purchase, or other commitment.
We combine third-party data, estimates, and our own calculations. Coverage, geographic boundaries, reference years, and update schedules vary by source and location. Some readings describe a central point or surrounding area rather than an entire city. Missing data does not mean a value is zero or a place performs poorly.
Scores, rankings, summaries, and planner matches simplify complex tradeoffs. They depend on available data, assumptions, and your selected preferences; they are not guarantees of affordability, safety, school quality, climate comfort, or suitability. Historical weather and hazard indicators do not predict conditions at a particular property or future event.
We work to improve accuracy, but information may be incomplete, outdated, or incorrect. Check original sources, local authorities, current listings, and qualified professionals before acting. WhyThere does not provide individualized financial, legal, tax, real estate, or other professional advice.
Do not use WhyThere unlawfully, impersonate others, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, or bypass access restrictions or security controls. Do not submit malicious material or run requests that overload the service or disrupt access for others.
Automated access must respect published crawler instructions, rate limits, and access controls. Normal search-engine indexing is not prohibited by these terms when it follows those instructions. Contact us before bulk collection, repeated large-scale queries, or integration into another product so we can discuss permission and capacity. Access to public pages does not grant a license to underlying third-party datasets.
WhyThere retains rights it holds in its original writing, software, branding, and presentation. Third-party data, photographs, maps, trademarks, and other materials remain subject to their respective owners' rights and applicable licenses. We do not claim ownership of underlying public facts.
You may share links and use material where permitted by its license or applicable law, including fair use. Keep required credits and source notices. Contact us about uses requiring additional permission; WhyThere cannot grant rights that belong to another provider.
WhyThere accepts payment for sponsorships, advertising, and featured placements from real estate agents, tourism organizations, and other partners. Paid placements are identified as such. Payment buys promotional visibility, not influence over our data, methodology, organic scores, rankings, or planner recommendations. Partners may report factual errors through the same source-based review process available to anyone; payment does not determine whether a correction is made. A listing or link is not a guarantee of a provider's quality, availability, or results.
External websites and providers have their own terms and privacy practices. Any transaction you enter into with them is between you and that provider. Paid partner packages with WhyThere are governed by a separate agreement specifying deliverables, fees, duration, and any cancellation or refund terms. This page does not promise traffic, leads, sales, or refunds for those packages.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, WhyThere is provided as is and as available, without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. Features and data sources may change or become unavailable. We may restrict access to address abuse, security risks, legal requirements, or operational capacity.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, WhyThere is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits or opportunities, arising from use of or inability to use the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights.
We may revise these terms as the service evolves. We will post the revised terms and update the date on this page, with additional notice or consent where required by law. Revisions do not retroactively change a separate signed partner agreement. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
