Noida, short for New Okhla Industrial Development Authority, is a city located in Gautam Buddha Nagar district in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It is a part of the National Capital Region (NCR). Situated in the floodplain region between the Yamuna and the Hindon Rivers, the city was established in 1976, and is regarded as one of the most systematically planned cities in India. It was designed under the NCR planning strategy to decentralise growth from Delhi.
